Women sculptures: goddesses, magical creatures, and an heroine.

Sculptors have always sought new facets of images from history and mythology to embody in stone the perfection of the spirit, mind and body. There are three main images of female sculpture -a goddess, a magical creature and a historical heroine.

The figures of goddesses are endowed with a sacred meaning and embody a whole complex of subtexts. For example, in the temples of India you can see sculptural images of Sati – the main female deity, which embodies the idea of creation. Themis – the ancient Greek goddess of law, symbolizes justice, inviolability, inevitability and impartiality of justice.

The Greeks created stone images of the huntress Artemis, statues of the warrior and patroness of science Athena, as well as figures of the goddess of love Venus, the most famous is the sculpture Venus of Milo. A popular motif of  women sculptures  in Europe is the Madonna and child. Usually her appearance expresses the deep wisdom and strength of the mother’s spirit, ready to let her child go on the chosen path.

Demi-gods-mermaids, nymphs, sylphids, winged women-sphinxes-are the expression of the collective unconscious of humanity and the embodiment of the dream of a magical, secret world fairy-tale creatures represent the magic so necessary for each of us. Caryatids, Nereids, sirens- sculptures of women from legends-fascinated people at all times. The characteristic features of such sculptures are mysticism and deep internal dynamics.

Historical heroines are another popular image in sculptural art. Princesses, great queens and folk heroines are embodied in the works of sculptors. The liberator of France Joan Of Arc, the Russian Queen Anna, Helen of Troy, Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, the Chinese folk heroine Mulan-the images of these legendary heroines are embodied in stone.  Women sculptures  are always dynamic with expressive facial expressions. The inner life and ideological fullness of such sculptures evokes an active mental and emotional participation of the viewer.

Goddesses, fairy-tale creatures, heroines embody the great ideas of humanity and peace. The Greeks deified the beauty of the body and spirit, thin, elegant or strong, athletic female figures of the Greek school still remain a model for modern sculptors. Harmony of proportions, inner expression and deep fullness, striking simplicity and expressive poses – these are the characteristic features of Greek  women sculptures , which have become the standard of beauty for female sculpture at all times.

Vasily Boroday continues the work of Borody grandfather -the author of the sculptures “Founders of Kiev” and “Motherland”. His works are compositionally restrained, reminiscent of iconographic brevity, carry very clear, powerful messages. Alexey Leonov is an intuitive sculptor, cosmist and innovator who embodies images of the spiritual world in his works. The master works in the genre of easel and monumental sculpture (mainly – chamotte and bronze).
2. Any image, material, size and technique to your taste. Sculptors practice an individual approach and are sure that the creation of a work of art is the result of cooperation between the master and the customer. You can choose the material, the size of the sculpture and the technique of production.
3. Convenient for the client organization of work. During the checkout process, you can discuss all the details with the sculptor. The master will make a three-dimensional model, and the customer will approve the project or ask to make adjustments to it. The sculptor, taking into account all the wishes, will start working.
