Krishna and Rukmini are the personification of the cosmic unity of male and female principles.
Rukmini is Krishna’s main wife in Hindu mythology, a princess, an incarnation of the goddess Lakshmi. Rukmini was unfairly forgotten and Radha, Krishna’s friend from his youth, took precedence in folk songs and tales. The image of Radha, a young girl in the fields of Vrindavan, was closer to the people’s hope for happiness. But it was the spiritual power and strength of Rukmini that nourished Krishna the king and was His source of inspiration and wisdom.
The story of Krinsha and Rukmini is described in the text “Srimad-Bhagavatam”.
Rukmini fell in love with Krishna even before they met, being enchanted by his virtues. Rukmini’s brother, Rukmi, an enemy of Krishna, forbade her to marry Krishna and conspired to marry his sister to Shishupala. Rukmini, trying to save herself, sent Krishna a letter asking him to kidnap her from the temple of the goddess Durga on the eve of the wedding.
Krishna, in order to penetrate the lands of Rukmini’s family, showed his Divine Lila – Game, disguised He entered the temple of Durga and Rukmini sat in his chariot. Then everyone bragged and rushed to catch up with those running away, then Rukmini courageously drove the chariot, while Krishna defended himself from the pursuers.
Krishna brought Rukmini to his state of Dwarka, where they played a magnificent wedding. All the inhabitants of Dwarka warmly welcomed the princess, who became a wise ruler.
