JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH 

1685-1750

German composer, virtuosic organist, music teacher. 

 

Сombined the traditions of German sacred music with the traditions of Austrian, Italian, French music schools. He was a brilliant innovator who opened new prospects for the development of world music culture. His strong influence was also reflected in the works of great composers of the 19th century (Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner, Glinka, Taneyev) and in the works of outstanding masters of the 20th century (Shostakovich, Onegger). The works of Bach are notable by the unity of all the elements, a balanced musical structure, a strong architectonics, and a huge variety of techniques connected by strong internal logic.

WORKS The creative heritage of Bach is very rich and diverse, it includes more than 1000 works of various genres: “Brandenburg concertos”, “Месса h-moll”, “St John Passion”, “St Matthew Passion”, “Christmas Oratorio” and others.
