JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH
1685-1750
German composer, virtuosic organist, music teacher.
Сombined the traditions of German sacred music with the traditions of Austrian, Italian, French music schools. He was a brilliant innovator who opened new prospects for the development of world music culture. His strong influence was also reflected in the works of great composers of the 19th century (Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner, Glinka, Taneyev) and in the works of outstanding masters of the 20th century (Shostakovich, Onegger). The works of Bach are notable by the unity of all the elements, a balanced musical structure, a strong architectonics, and a huge variety of techniques connected by strong internal logic.
