“A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart”. “Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen” .

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe – german poet, dramatist, prose writer, statesman, thinker and naturalist (1749-1832).

Goethe is the greatest poet of epoch and at the same time; he was an outstanding scientist, philosopher and naturalist. He was always interested more in philosophical system than texts. Goethe seemed to “fly up” the limits of philosophies and systems, comprehending and sometimes borrowing the most valuable, interesting and fruitful things.

Goethe continued the line of German natural philosophy, stood against the materialistic-mechanistic natural science. Outlook at life and mindset of man took the central role in Goethe’s poetic works. The final composition was the famous tragedy “Faust” (1808-1832), which embodied the search for the meaning of life. “Faust” gives a great picture of the universe and personal understanding of modern era. Before the reader appears the real and netherworld, man, animals, plants, satanic and angelic creatures, artificial organisms, different countries and eras, the forces of good and evil. The eternal hierarchy breaks down, time moves in any direction.

Goethe explored the nature of light and color, studied minerals, culture of Antiquity, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

WORKS “The Sorrows of Young Werther”, “Der Erlkönig”, “The Metamorphosis of Plants”, “Faust”, “Theory of colors” and others.
