The sculpture of a child with an open gesture toward Heaven embodies the spiritual concept of grace—trust in the Supreme as oneself, a level of consciousness where there are no boundaries between oneself and the Divine, a literal dissolution in trust in the Living Heaven. This state is interpreted as God’s action, changing the human heart. It is an invisible divine power, bestowed by God upon man solely by His grace, not for merit. It is aimed at sanctifying and transforming the soul, being an effective manifestation of Divine love. In a broader sense, it is a blessing, the highest blessing, or joy.
The sculptor chose as the prototype for his creation the little Krishna—a hero of Indian mythology, followed by millions of devoted hearts. Krishna is the embodiment of divine love, filled with grace and its source in the human world.
