Alexey Leonov is an artist of multifaceted talent. He is an intuitive sculptor, cosmic, an admirer of truth, introducing images of the spiritual world into a material form. Active master of modern sculpture, mainly working in the field of monumental and easel sculpture. A brave innovator in art, he knows perfectly the laws of the academic school. The sculptor’s creativity is multifaceted and large-scale. The sculptor is studying world philosophy, religion, and science, his creativity opens a special world of wisdom and perfection to the viewer. The main topics are humanity’s spiritual search on the example of the founders of religions and philosophical movements, leading scientists, discoverers, and inventors. As a deep, thoughtful portrait painter, the sculptor seeks to convey the uniqueness and character of the person portrayed. A separate theme of the artist’s creativity is female beauty, as the highest inspirational principle, and children’s images, as a symbol of openness and purity. The sculptor’s works are distinguished by the culture of modeling, spirituality, lightness, and the desire for freedom.
Sculptor Alexey Leonov was born in 1982 in Ukraine. He graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture,  Professor Shvetsov’s studio in 2005. In his student years, he got interested in philosophy, world culture, and the history of religions. Alexey Leonov further perfected his artistic skills in the postgraduate school under the guidance of the academician Vasily Zacharovich Borodai. Since 2008 Leonov is a member of the Ukrainian Artists Union.
Leonov’s art has unique features and innovations. Alexey’s arts have a meaningful positive charge, inducing people’s unification, and heartening people to moral and spiritual ideals.
For the period from 2005 through 2023, there were more than 200 personal exhibitions in the cities of Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
The author’s works now can be found in more than 70 cities the world over, such as Havana, San Salvador, Chicago, Houston, Strasbourg, Le Bourget, Cologne, Varna, Pordenone (Italy), Prague, Mumbai, Calcutta, Beijing, Ulan Bator, Astana, Kyiv, Simferopol, and others.
Alexey Leonov is a deep, skillful portrait painter, and author of the unique exhibition Great Teachers of Humanity, which brings together more than a hundred sculptural portraits of famous geniuses, spiritual mentors, and discoverers.
