Guard of Shambhala. 2004

The sculptural composition was created under the impression of a painting by N.K. Roerich’s “The Guardian of the Entrance (Keeper of the Entrance)” of 1927 and reveals the theme of the sacred watch of the hidden Abode of Light, the Himalayas.
“It is very rare to see half-naked“ snowmen ”. They are devoted guardians of some Himalayan regions. The sacred Ashrams of the Mahatmas are hidden there. Earlier, even in Sikkim, there were several similar Ashrams. ” “By underground passages through amazing ice caves, a few of the Chosen, even in this life, reached the sacred place.
