LEONARDO DA VINCI – Italian painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, inventor, technician, mathematician, anatomist, botanist, musician, philosopher of the era of High Renaissance, a vivid example of “universal man” (1452-1519).

 Leonardo da Vinci primarily constituted himself as engineer scientist. He made a number of remarkable inventions, such as: projects of submarine and breathing machine for diving as well as propeller, parachute, tank, light portable bridges, searchlight, weaving machine, ball bearing and project of flight car. Due to the works of Leonardo the art of painting reached a new stage. Leonardo da Vinci got a sense and brought to reality a new painting technique: sfumato is natural blurring  of line, reproduction of sense of distraction of light in the air. For Leonardo art and exploratory activity complimented each other, the aspects that are in constant aspiration to observe and fix the external view and inner structure of the world.
