“Lord! Forgive them, for they know not what they do!”. 2005

The symbolic work reveals the cosmic depth of mercy and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Messiah rises above the Earth as a spiritual Sun. With the light of his presence, Christ illuminates and takes upon himself the cross of sins of numerous human souls, precisely those who do not know what he is doing.

The sculpture expresses the planetary scale of the Messiah. Part of the hemisphere, which is depicted at the foot of the cross and symbolically conveys the Earth, is engulfed in the fire of purification, renewal, transformation, spiritualization.

Christ rises on the cross of human sins. This is a symbolic, cosmic cross, just like Christ is a cosmic teacher, a cosmic guide of humanity to spiritual spheres. He takes upon himself the atrocities of people and turns to the Father so that He may forgive, save and pardon the ignorance that is taking place on Earth. And this is of extraordinary importance for the planet Earth, for the development of humanity, which takes upon itself the cross of human suffering and fills it with the world of its spirituality and its love.

The work was created during the times of transformations in Ukraine and on Earth in 2005. The sculptor felt and experienced spiritual, authorial transformations at that time. In difficult times, the author turned his thoughts to the burden that Christ took upon himself, and felt the Lord’s Power, which gives hope, awakening and salvation to all humanity.

The work expresses cosmic mercy, love of a global scale, which forgives human atrocities, addressing the depths of the human subconscious, where everyone has a holy of holies – Christ with the hope of awakening Him, resurrecting Him, giving Him life and through Him passing to salvation.
