Ganeshа is the God of happiness and success in Hinduism, the son of the God of gods, who personifies the consciousness of the Universe, – Shiva and his wife – the cosmic Mother of the World Adi Shakti – Parvati.
Ganeshа removes obstacles, brings good luck, grants spiritual achievements and wisdom.
The unusual appearance – a man with the head of an elephant Ganesha is associated with a deep meaning – instead of a human head, which was full of unnecessary thoughts and selfishness, God Shiva gave his son the head of the wisest creature on Earth – the Elephant. So Ganesha healed from broken selfishness and was filled with wisdom.
Ganesha’s big ears symbolize the ability to listen carefully and comprehend the words of the teacher.
Ganesha has a long trunk – a symbol of enormous strength and compassion for all beings.
The mouse, the animal on which Ganesha rides, symbolizes desire, they should be tamed by everyone to manifest wisdom.
Important symbols in the hands of Ganesha:
a rope with which he pulls a person out of trouble;
ankusha (a sharp weapon) with which he cuts off obstacles;
modak – sweets – happiness and pleasure;
a gesture of blessing all humanity.
Ganesha’s big belly is a symbol that all the worlds are contained in it. Appealing and requesting Ganesha brings great benefit! He is able to absorb and transform any negative experience for the good.
Hindus believe that Ganesha is like a father to people, and he wishes everyone happiness.
