Mother of God. Affection. 2017.

The sculpture was created in the best iconographic traditions of the 11th century based on the miraculous Vladimir icon. In the work, the transmitted state of special tenderness, mercy, sacrifice, self-denial and great love for humanity. The iconographic image of the Virgin belongs to the Eleus (Tenderness) type. The baby clung touchingly to the face of the Mother, and she embraces him with all tenderness and love. Mary foresees the suffering of the Son in His earthly journey, empathizes and compassionate with his mission. The eyes of the Mother of God are filled with “the joy of holy sorrow.”
